Peace Beyond All Understanding (Part 2 of 2)

Jesus Christ brings His child profound peace.  The lost just cannot understand it.

"And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."

Philippians 4:7

Part 2

Yesterday:
“And the peace of God.”
Real, lasting peace only comes from God, He is the author of it.

“Which passeth all understanding.”
The peace that believers can reveal during the toughest of times is incredible.  A lost world cannot understand it.  To them, it makes no sense at all.

Today:
God’s peace is but one of His unexpected blessings to us when He saves us.  It is how He generously cares for His child.

“Now unto him, that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us” (Ephesians 3:20).

It is God’s incredible abundant peace that,
“Shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
It is precious to know that there are things that our Father “keeps” for us, like our salvation.

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time” (1 Peter 1:3-5).

Our Father keeps us saved “by the power of God through faith.”  And note how Jude describes believers in the opening of his book.

“Jude, the servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to them that are sanctified by God the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ, and called: Mercy unto you, and peace, and love, be multiplied” (Jude 1:1-2).

We are “preserved in Jesus Christ!”  No worries for the Father’s child!  Glory!  Believers are saved, sanctified, preserved, and peaceful because of Jesus Christ!

Quote: “If God be our God, He will give us peace in trouble.  When there is a storm without, He will make peace within.  The world can create trouble in peace, but God can create peace in trouble”[1] (Thomas Watson).
