Yesterday: He Is “the Only True God!”
– We can see that God is the “only true God.”
Today:
The God of the Bible Is Unique!
– We can see that there is no one else like God; He is unique.
In no earthly religion is there any god like the God of the Bible. Indeed He is the only One there is. Today there is much confusion about God, but it wasn’t always like this. After the creation week, there was no question but that there was only one God. But Satan, Lucifer, was created as an angel of light, but rather than being loyal to his Creator, he desired man’s worship. Rather than having God’s creation worshiping Him, the devil created confusion when he invented “the lie.” He told Eve that she could be her own god, essentially worshiping herself. Satan even introduced the worship of creation instead of the Creator. After Satan’s interference, there were now five ideas of who could be worshiped.
1. Humans should worship God the Creator.
2. Humans could worship themselves as false gods.
3. Humans could worship Satan and/or demons, more false gods.
4. Humans could worship the creation instead of The Creator, even more, false gods.
5. Humans could worship no god… (the atheists and agnostics, an offshoot of 2).
Sadly, humanity had bought into the devil’s ideas. Since that time, there has been much confusion about religion and who ought to be worshiped. The Creator loves His creatures and has given us His Word to make himself known to us. And His Word teaches us that He is the only God and there is no other.
“Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD: And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might” (Deuteronomy 6:4-5).
There are no false gods or idols that can be compared to the God of the Bible. And God makes it clear that He is not just one of many choices, but He is the only choice! He is the only One deserving of our reverence; to Him, we owe our very lives. He is the God we live to glorify.
“Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen” (1 Timothy 1:17).
“Who shall not fear thee, O Lord, and glorify thy name? for thou only art holy: for all nations shall come and worship before thee; for thy judgments are made manifest” (Revelation 15:4).
To worship any other god is to honor Satan and believe his “demonic doctrine” (1 Timothy 4:1).
