The God of all Nations (Part 2)

Even in the Old Testament, we see foretastes of the Gospel truth.  The God of the Bible is the God for all people.

"O praise the LORD, all ye nations: praise him, all ye people.  For his merciful kindness is great toward us: and the truth of the LORD endureth for ever.  Praise ye the LORD."

Psalm 117:1-2

Yesterday we saw that the Gentiles will believe in the Messiah, and will be a part of God’s Kingdom.  Jesus taught the opposite of what the Jewish leaders taught about the Gentiles.

“Praise Him all ye people.”
The Apostle Paul taught that God is the God of the Gentiles as well as the God of the Jews.

“And that the Gentiles might glorify God for his mercy; as it is written, For this cause I will confess to thee among the Gentiles, and sing unto thy name. And again he saith, Rejoice, ye Gentiles, with his people. And again, Praise the Lord, all ye Gentiles; and laud him, all ye people,” (Romans 15:9-11).

“For his merciful kindness is great toward us:”
His mercy is not just great in amount (the number of it), but also in the power of it.  His mercies are many and powerful!  It is powerful enough for your sin, for dealing with the devil, to rule over death, and to close the gates of hell for His child.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life,” (John 3:16).

What a reason to praise Him!

“And the truth of the LORD endureth for ever.”
Jehovah’s truth is eternal, it will always be.  All His promises, His statements, the guarantees of His mercy, all of these will be so, for He only speaks the truth, and He always keeps His word.

“What was truth to Abraham is truth to us; what was truth to Paul is truth to us; what was truth to the martyrs is truth to us; what is truth to us will be truth to all generations of the world in all lands, and will be truth forever.”1

Because of this truth we must…

“Praise ye the LORD.”
